April 11, 2021 The Covid-19 pandemic greatly disrupted the progress of our 18th National Exhibition. Some museums were forced to forego the exhibition entirely, and some will be welcoming it much later than planned. But the show will go on! From June to October, 2021, the 18th National will be at the fabulous Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, Minnesota, and will then visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, where it will be on display from October, 2021 to February, 2022. FOR VISITORS: The Society's 18th National Exhibition March 6, 2020 - February, 2022 Since its founding in 1978, the American Society of Marine Artists has presented its prestigious National Exhibition biennially. This 18th Exhibition comes on the heels of the Society's 40th anniversary and will continue, with an extension, in spite of the pandemic.
Representing the best in American marine art, the highly sought after show will tour museums around the United States from its debut at the Jamestown Settlement Museum in Jamestown, Virginia on March 6th, 2020, to its conclusion at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in February of 2022.
Other museums will include the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, Minnesota, the Gulfquest Maritime Museum in Mobile, Alabama and the Burroughs-Chapin Museum of Art in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
